Toarmina’s Pizza Canton
On a busy day, when you don’t feel like cooking, but you crave a satisfying meal, there’s nothing better than a fresh, hot, hand-tossed pizza. And for the past 33 years, Toarmina’s Pizza has been providing just that to communities throughout Michigan. Dee was a passionate cook and loved to make great meals for her family and friends. When her kids left for college, she found a new outlet for her talent at the Canton location. She took the location over in October of 2019 and set about hiring a team as committed as she was. She Implemented new processes to ensure consistent quality and vegan pizza and desserts to the menu. “The Canton community is definitely a pizza-loving group,” Dee reflects. “We really appreciate the support we’ve seen – I think everyone appreciates our tasty original crust, the savory sauce and of course our famed hand-tossed, hot, fresh style.”
Their 24″ pizza has always been a fan favorite, serving as a main attraction for any party or gathering, but the 24″ vegan pizza has become hugely popular. “Last year, we started offering vegan pizza with plant-based meats and fresh vegetables,” notes Dee. Their efforts won them the Best Vegan Pizza of Michigan award from VEGMICHIGAN, a non-profit organization. The Toarmina’s team takes care to be sure their offerings serve a wide variety of dietary needs, including vegan, gluten-free (try their cauliflower crust), in addition to their popular thin crust pizza and wings.
Dee also takes pride in the fact that her location is a women-owned small business hiring local employees. Her whole team thanks the Canton community for their support through the challenges of the past year.
