Young children and families have a brand-new educational choice in Canton. The Primrose School of Canton opened in June 2020, located on Canton Center Road next to Busch’s Fresh Market. Primrose Schools have been around for 40 years, with more than 410 schools around the nation.
Kunjan and Hemal Patel opened this Primrose School of Canton franchise in Canton for a number of reasons, perhaps most important being their adventurous two-year-old son and curious newborn daughter. “We’re residents of Canton and excited and proud to bring the first Primrose School of Canton to the community and Michigan,” says Kunjan. “We love everything Canton has to offer our family — numerous parks, local restaurants, wonderful schools and diversity. We also recognized the need for educational childcare, and we have a strong belief in the power of Primrose School of Canton to provide children with the right foundation to be successful in school and in life.”
Kunjan will be overseeing the school with her husband, Hemal, with dedication to the Primrose School of Canton vision: To continually strengthen the standard of excellence as the best and most trusted provider of early childhood education and childcare for families across the nation — and to serve needs of the Canton community as a whole.
Kunjan earned her bachelor’s degree in engineering from Michigan State University and worked in the aviation field in the past and most recently as an operations executive of a non-profit organization in Detroit. Hemal attended Kent State University and has spent the past few years working in a leadership capacity in the Healthcare IT industry. They discovered the school through the experience of their nephews. “We were amazed at the impact that Balanced Learning® curriculum had on their intellectual, social and emotional development. As we began our family, we noticed a lack of high-quality childcare options in our area.”
“Who children become is as important as what they know,” is a belief at the core of the Balanced Learning® approach. Primrose School of Canton’s exclusive early learning approach balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. Character development is an essential component of the curriculum. “Each year, our students will participate in community service efforts and partnerships with local non-profit organizations,” says Kunjan. “They will learn about the importance of giving back to those who are less fortunate and experience the rewards of making a positive impact on others in the community. We deliver more than a curriculum; it’s a life-changing early learning experience for children and their families. We are excited to meet you and welcome you to the Primrose School of Canton family!”
Primrose School of Canton offers Premier Childcare and Educational Experience for children ages six weeks to Pre-K, plus before/after school care and Summer Camps.
